Movie Magic from Sarah G

Hi - Its my turn to post today and I wanted to share with you this LO that I did a few days ago.
The photos that I used were taken at Universal Studios in LA. This was probably my favourite park out of all the awesome parks that we visited on our trip. The tour of the sudios was totally amazing - the special effects that we were part of were stunning! The day was scorching hot and all the spray off zones were in operation. Sophie and Benji were in heaven running throught the sprinklers. They got totally drenched but were dry again within half an hour. The older kids loved the creepy characters and the shows and rides were totally awesome!
Bottom line is I have heaps of photos to scrap of this particular day, so I set to work to cross 5 off my list with this design. First I sprayed the corners of my cardstock using my crafter's workshop 'gears and wheels' mask and black dylusions spray ink. My papers are Studio Calico and the cute banner is a 'paper garland' from American Craft's 'Neopolitan' collection.
Now for the Purple Pumpkin goodies. The awesome burgundy flower, yellow doily, yellow tickets and spotty button are from the amazing Purple Pumpkin. The flower in particular deserves a special mention
I needed something to balance out the large photo at the bottom of my page and this turned out to be the perfect element. The colour was a great match match too.
Hope you all have a great weekend and find time to do a little crafting along the way!

Enjoying the School Holidays...

Nearly a week into the holidays and they are going ok....both kids and parents!!!LOL

Eldest daughter is leaving on a swim camp tomorrow and another may be going with her father to a 4WD experience. So that leaves the midget...nobody wants i guess she will be quiet without her sisters annoying her. So i will be working and scrapping most of the weekend.Hopefully scrapping more..LOL

Today i wanted to share a layout with you that is based on this months White with 1 Challenge.

I think i might sound like a broken record....but its true...spotty buttons go with any themed layout.

And i love how you can get all the colours of the rainbow for buttons that are perfectly matched for a layout too.

Thanks for stopping by....

Hope everyone has a safe and fun long weekend...i know i will have a quieter weekend!!!LOL

Its a page of my son Dylan. I have just used two Purple Pumpkins vinyl cogs on this page, which went so well with two chipboard ones.

This is a page i did for my DT work over at Creative Scrappers. I used Basic Greys CLIPPINGS range.
Here is a close up,

The cogs are such a great embellishment for a boys page.
There is still a few days left to join in on this month sketch challenge.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

He's got the Island Spirit - Sarah G

Hi there from rainy NZ. I am going to share with you today a page that reminds me of tropical sunshine and cloudless skies (can you tell I am a summer person??).

I really love these photos of Benji at 2 in Fiji. I can't believe how much he has changed in barely a year. Look at those cute baby cheeks and his adorable curls :) I remember taking these photos after he got a new Fiji-style shirt. He really thought he was the bees knees!
I used a chipboard shape as a mask to spray the music notes onto the background. My papers are Amy Tangerine with a little OA (Woodland Park) in the mix.
Now for the Purple Pumpkin goodies. Check out the buttons that I arranged in a visual triangle around my page. I especially love the frog one. One of Benji's favourite memories of Fiji is of all the 'froggies' in the grass around our hotel so it was especially appropriate for this page about him.
The PP twine is one of my favourite products - I use it on almost every page I make. There are so many colours available that you can find one to co-ordinate with almost any colour scheme that you can dream up. Here I wound it around my buttons, used it as a tie for my tag and tied it into a bow for a bit of added interest :)
Oh, and don't forget to check out the Washi tape now available from PP - its another current obsession for me :) Its so versatile and adds a splash of colour to any page!
Have a great weekend everyone - and try to find some time for a little crafting.

Fun Friday! Chantal with you today...

Hello there!  Yay for Friday, hey?

Now today I'm taking a leaf out of one of the big department stores over here in Australia, David Jones' book, and putting up a Christmas layout in September!  LOL!

Actually I noticed near the end of August all the Christmas stuff up at the above mentioned store and it actually inspired me to finally scrap this photo before this year's one gets done!  This year's been a bit like that!

So here's my layout called "Santa" and it is based on Creative Scrappers sketch #222...

I have used paint, gesso and a paper towel over my embossed cardstock for the background. :)

You can see my paper towel here in this close-up shot.  I think Santa's beard inspired me to use it... ha ha ha! ;)

I've done some fun and funky stitching on here using some red thread.  Just mixing it up a bit!  I haven't used that colour before - which is a bit weird as it's my favourite colour. :)

I've adhered a super cute fabric Christmas button from Purple Pumpkin's Store on the top of a cool 2 Crafty chipboard flourish that I painted to match my layout.  That gorgeous deer button is also from Purple Pumpkin's fantastic range of fabric covered buttons - you can check out the goods on offer at the moment right here right now!

I've also used a pink crochet doily on my layout cut up in such a way that I've managed to use it four times on my layout!

Firstly, I cut around the doily, to create a long line of crochet trim - which has been adhered to the bottom of the photograph.  I've cut the left-over middle circle in half and that's been tucked underneath the chipboard flourish and button.  The other half has been halved again and these two quarter circles are on the top right and bottom left of my layout - acting a little like photo corners. :)

I just love finding new ways to cut up dollies!  :D

Well that's all from me for today, thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend!!!

Hi ladies, How are we all. Todays page i have to share  with you is of my youngest daughter Hayley.
She loves playing with my sunglasses, normally she wear them upside down as she doesnt like the arms around her ears, but i took a photo of her with them on the right way.

After taking a couple of photos, she snaped one of the arms off.
I love the bird button, which i got in my mixed lucky dip.

The white doily i cut in half, then i placed the little yellow one on top.

And the heart buttons are one of my favourite, they go with anything.

Just a reminder that you all have plenty of time left to enter our sketch comp.

Hi everyone, hope you have been having a great week. Ive been busy creating a few projects, 2 I wish to share with you today. First up is a layout I created the other day of my two boys.

And here is a close up..

Ive used some awesome Washi Tape, spotted button, vinyl cogs and a rocket button from a boys pack I got awhile ago.

"Keepin cool" by Vicky

Hello my friends!

This is a layout of my sweet DD Nefeli, chilling out at my father's pool bar in Samos!!!
I used a mask which was exactly the same as the background paper and added some gesso here and there to give some texture! I then sprayed some colors with my glimmer mists and started layering!

I print my own photos and when I replaced the black ink last time, the 1st photo didn't come out so good so I printed it again and I created that cool effect with the double pic!!

In between the photos, I have placed a PP vinyl heart!!!
You can also see here a yellow ticket on the top left!

In the photo below you can see a beautiful felt flower, a spotty button and red twine!

Thank you all for visiting PP blog today!
Have fun!!
